From August 27 to September 6, 2012 the lessons of the Singing Academy "Giovani all'Opera" were held by the bass-baritone Natale De Carolis.
The course took place in Regina Palace Hotel's Sala Tiffany and in the Congress Hall.

The eight protagonists, chosen by De Carolis after a series of auditions and few months of hard work, prepared the semi-staged version of Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia.

The Orchestra Giovanile Italiana conducted by Francesco Pasqualetti, young talent who came out from the Conducting Masterclass 2009, worked on the project too. The conductor and the orchestra had long and hard rehearsals, both in Fiesole and Stresa.

The opera, presented in contemporary terms, was successfully performed on Thursday September 6 2012 at Stresa Congress Hall, in the context of the 51st Stresa Festival.

The artists were Marina Ogiy (Rosina), Matteo Macchioni (Il Conte di Almaviva), Jozef Carotti (Figaro), Daniele Piscopo (Bartolo), Davide Giangregorio (Basilio), Simona Di Capua (Berta), Giampiero Cicino (Fiorello), Valerio de Angelis (Ambrogio).

The Academy of Lyric Singing "Giovani all'Opera" 2012 was realized thanks to Fondazione Comunitaria del VCO
